What is the price of gold today, 18 August 2026: On August 18, 2026, due to the rise in the global bullion market, the prices of gold and silver in India increased, although an atmosphere of caution was also seen in the market. In early trade on MCX, the price of gold reached an intraday high of ₹ 1,56,155 per 10 grams, but later it declined significantly and started trading around the level of ₹ 1.55 lakh. Similarly, silver price on MCX hit an intraday high of ₹2,38,500 per kg but later fell to trade around ₹2,37,500 per kg. This shows that investors are expecting a rise in the market and at the same time are being cautious.
In the global market, spot gold price rose by 0.5% to about $4,395 an ounce while spot silver gained about 1.5% and traded around $65.5 an ounce, outperforming gold.
