Kia launched the Syros EV in India on July 23, 2026. Incheon Kia, a dealer in Kerala, has now commenced deliveries of 150 Syros EVs in a single day. This milestone delivery event was organized at Grand Hyatt, Kochi, on August 17. It comes at the onset of Onam, Kerala’s own festive season.
The event had the attendance of Kia India’s senior leadership including the Managing Director and CEO Gwanggu Lee, and the dealer partner’s senior management. The India Book Of Records has recognized this achievement as the ‘maximum number of single model electric cars delivered on a single day’.

Delivering 150 units of a newly-launched car on a single day itself is big. It likely piggybacked on Kerala’s festive demand. The Onam festival is considered an auspicious occasion to buy new cars. This may have made more people take part in the milestone-delivery event.
Incheon Kia, is quite a big name in Kerala. It has an expanding presence in the state. It delivered 500 cars across the state on the day of this delivery, 150 of which were the Syros EVs. Incheon’s leadership hopes to achieve the ‘10,000 deliveries in a year’ milestone by end of 2026.

Incheon has been seeing immense demand for the Syros EV. Its order book continues to be populated. According to data put out by the dealer, it received over 100 pre-bookings for the electric Syros even before its prices were announced.
On August 3, it hosted an event in Kochito announce the car’s Kerala launch. By then, the booking count had grown to over 300. At the time of the mega delivery, it has crossed 650. This shows strong initial momentum for the EV.

The Syros EV has become Kia’s most affordable electric vehicle in India. It is priced from Rs 13.49 lakh, ex-showroom. It comes in seven variants and with two battery options- 42kWh and 51.4kWh. The company is also offering the Battery-as-a-Subscription (BaaS) model on it, which brings the entry price down to Rs 7.99 lakh, ex-showroom. The battery rent in this case will be Rs 3.30 per km.
The Syros EV is the carmaker’s second mass-market EV model after the Carens Clavis EV. In India, its prime competitors are the Nexon EV and the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV.
Broadly, the Syros EV comes with the following trims- HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and X-Line. The first three can only be had with the smaller battery pack while the 51.4kWh battery becomes available from HTK+ onwards. That makes the total variant count seven.
The Syros EV comes with a lifetime battery warranty and an assured buyback programme. According to the latter, customers get a resale value of up to 80% even after three years. This of course, is subject to programme conditions.

On the design front, there is not much differentiation between the internal combustion Syros and the EV. Most of the internal combustion SUV’s styling cues have been retained. The charging port sits on the front fender, and the EV rides on 17-inch alloy wheels- just like the internal combustion version.
The EV is offered in 9 colour options- Glacier White Pearl, Frost Blue, Gravity Grey, Pewter Olive, Magma Red, Ivory Silver Matte, Ivory Silver Gloss and Aurora Black Pearl. The X-Line variants are only offered in Xclusive Matte Graphite and Aurora Black Pearl.
The Syros EV comes with a tech-laden cabin. It has features like Kia’s Trinity Panoramic Display, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charger, 8-speaker Harman Kardon audio, a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, 360-degree camera, electronic stability control, rear sunshades, Level 2 ADAS, front parking sensors, and a dual-camera dashcam. Even in the EV, the rear seats can slide and recline and come with ventilation. The front seats are also powered and ventilated. The vehicle offers a 16-litres frunk (front storage compartment).

The Syros EV is available with two battery options- 42kWh and 51.4kWh. Interestingly, the Carens Clavis EV and Hyundai Creta Electric also use these batteries. Since the Syros EV is lighter, these have higher claimed range figures. The larger battery is claimed to deliver 526km (ARAI) per charge. The 42kWh unit offers 443km on a single charge.
The larger battery is paired with a front-mounted electric motor that makes 171hp and 255Nm. The smaller battery comes with a lower output- 135hp and 255Nm. The 51.4kWh version can accelerate from 0-100kph in a claimed 8.1 seconds. The Syros EV has a clear power advantage over rivals like the Nexon EV and XUV 3XO. Two AC charging options are available with the Syros EV: 7.4kW and 10.8kW. The 51.4kWh version also supports 100kW DC fast charging.
