After the announcement of new central officials of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the stir in the central government has intensified. It is believed that a major reshuffle and expansion may soon be seen in the cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In fact, many ministers of the government are currently handling the dual responsibilities of both the organization and the government. At the same time, due to resignation of some ministers, many important seats in the cabinet have become vacant.

Cabinet expansion has not taken place since last two years, many posts are vacant

More than two years have passed since the formation of the Modi government. In such a situation, due to cabinet expansion not happening for a long time, now a strong need is being felt to include new faces and make changes in the government. In the recently announced new team of BJP, some ministers of the Center have been given organizational responsibilities. The most prominent name among these is that of Union Minister Piyush Goyal, who has been made the new National Treasurer of the party. Since then he is now playing dual roles. Not only this, the party presidents of Delhi and Uttar Pradesh also hold ministerial posts in the central government.

The vacancies became vacant due to the resignation of these veterans.

A major reason for the cabinet reshuffle is the resignation of many ministers. Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan and Ravneet Singh Bittu have resigned from their posts. In July, Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from the post of Union Education Minister, after which Prahlad Joshi was given the additional charge of the Education Ministry.

Similarly, Ravneet Singh Bittu had resigned from the post of Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing on July 24 as his Rajya Sabha tenure had ended. Apart from this, Minister of State for Minority Affairs and Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, George Kurien had also left his post after the completion of his Rajya Sabha term in June 2026.

Emphasis on youth and deprived society in the organization

This time, special care has been taken of age and social balance in the new national team of BJP. The team includes 6 members below 40 years of age, 15 members aged between 40 to 49 years and 21 leaders aged between 50 to 59 years.

A very important aspect of the organization is that about 40 percent of its members come from deprived communities. At the same time, Piyush Goyal is the only face among the Union Ministers in the new team, who has been included in this national team as the new Treasurer of the party.
