Delhi ACB arrested Satendra Jain, AAP's big claim

In a major action, the Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) has arrested six people, including senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and former Delhi Water Minister Satyendar Jain, in the alleged tender scam related to Delhi Jal Board (DJB). According to ACB, the arrest was made on August 18, 2026 on the basis of documentary, electronic and financial evidence.

The arrested accused include Satyendra Kumar Jain, former CEO of Delhi Jal Board and IAS officer Udit Prakash Rai, former contractual consultant Ankit Srivastava, AN Enterprises owner Nagendra Yadav, Euroteck Environment Pvt. Ltd. Owners include Raja Kumar Kurra and Srijanhar owner Pankaj Verma.

The case is related to FIR number 10/2024, dated 11 May 2024. In the FIR, the case was registered under sections 420, 409, 418 and 120-B of the IPC apart from the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988.

Allegation of giving advantage to a particular company in the tender

According to the ACB investigation, the tender issued for upgrading and increasing the capacity of Delhi Jal Board's Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) allegedly contained technical conditions that limited competition and Euroteck Environment Pvt. Ltd. Is accused of benefiting.

The investigating agency claims that the proposed pilot study was not conducted and restrictive conditions related to technology and media were included. Also, alleged changes were made in the technical conditions of the tender through corrigendum.

Bribery claim of Rs 1.52 crore

According to the ACB, the financial investigation has revealed alleged bribe/commission of Rs 1.52 crore. The agency alleges that the amount reached the bank accounts of Udit Prakash Rai and his relatives through AN Enterprises and was later allegedly used to purchase immovable property.

The ACB is also investigating the exchange of tender documents, technical conditions and corrigendums between private parties and government officials on the basis of electronic evidence.

The investigation will continue further

ACB says that the six accused have been arrested on the basis of interrogation and available evidence. The agency is further investigating the alleged money trail and the money earned from the crime.

At present the charges are based on the claims of the investigating agency and the legal status of all the accused will be decided in the further judicial process. Earlier, ED has also filed a charge sheet against 14 people including Satyendar Jain in the Delhi Jal Board tender case.
