Punjab News: Minister of Social Justice, Empowerment and Minority Affairs, Dr. Baljit Kaur, announced that the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has sanctioned and released Rs 8.33 crore to complete critical infrastructure projects in minority dominated areas of Gurdaspur district. She said that these efforts symbolize the strong commitment of the State Government to strengthen public infrastructure and ensure educational, social and economic empowerment of minority communities, which will further accelerate inclusive growth.
Dr Baljeet Kaur informed that this amount will be used to complete the construction work of 258 Anganwadi centres, 4 community complexes and 6 additional classrooms in Gurdaspur, Kalanaur, Dera Baba Nanak and Dhariwal blocks. She said that these projects will further strengthen the community infrastructure, provide better public services to the people and increase facilities for children, women and local residents.
Projects will be completed in four blocks
The Cabinet Minister said that the approved projects include 78 Anganwadi centers and 01 community complex in Gurdaspur block, 57 Anganwadi centers, 01 community complex and 5 additional classrooms in Dera Baba Nanak block, 51 Anganwadi centers, 01 community complex and 01 additional classroom in Kalanaur block, while construction work of 72 Anganwadi centers and 01 community complex will be completed in Dhariwal block.
Creation of sustainable community assets
Dr. Baljeet Kaur said that these projects will create sustainable community assets as well as improve the living standards of the people and ensure that the benefits of development reach every corner of the district.
Dr. Baljit Kaur reiterated that these projects will further strengthen the infrastructure at the grassroots level as well as improve the quality of child care, education and community services, benefiting every section of the society. She said that the Punjab Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is fully committed to delivering the benefits of development to every section of the society through development of modern public infrastructure and realizing the dream of “Rangla Punjab”.
