The report of the National Library of Medicine states that papaya contains active compounds like alkaloids, glycosides, tannins, saponins and flavonoids which are very beneficial for the patient suffering from dengue. Papaya leaf juice is rich in two compounds called 1-beta-D-ribofuranosyl-3-ethynyl called teriazole (ETAR) and 1-beta-Dribofuranosyl-4-ethynyl called imidazole.
