Maharashtra Congress in-charge and senior Kerala Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala has posted a video on social media in which he is seen cutting a cake in the shape of the tricolor. BJP has severely criticized the Congress party on this video.
In fact, Maharashtra Congress in-charge and senior Kerala Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala posted a video of him cutting a cake on his X handle and said, “This is a proud moment and a reminder of responsibility. On this Independence Day, I hoisted the tricolor at the KPCC headquarters along with my colleagues and Seva volunteers. May the flag we salute always remind us of the India we are entrusted to protect – an India that Jai Hind is independent, democratic, just and united.”
Maharashtra cabinet minister and BJP leader Chandrasekhar Bawankule said the Congress and Ramesh Chennithala should be ashamed for making and cutting the cake in tricolour. He questioned whether Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi condone such acts. Bawankule demanded strict action in such cases and said that Chennithala should be removed from the post of Kerala Home Minister.
Bawankule also targeted the Congress party regarding Vande Mataram saying that the Congress party is talking about singing only two verses of Vande Mataram because of the politics of Muslim appeasement. He said that earlier when two verses were sung there was no law, but now the law has been passed in the House. The whole country wants to sing Vande Mataram, so why does Congress object?
Bawankule alleged that the Congress party was only focusing on the Muslim vote bank and was opposing Vande Mataram due to this appeasement politics. He said that cases should be registered against those who insult Vande Mataram. Meanwhile, referring to the Maharashtra government’s decisions for women, Bawankule said that the Freedom of Religion Act will be implemented in Maharashtra from August 28. He said that this law will definitely benefit women.
