If you want to avoid the increasing cost of mobile recharge, then Jio Prime will give one year price guarantee to the customers. By taking a one-time subscription of ₹300, customers will be able to lock in today's price of their existing Jio plan till September 5, 2027. That means Prime members will be able to recharge their plan at the current price only during the entire membership period.
The good thing is that after taking Prime, customers will not be tied to any one plan. If they wish, they can also recharge from other Jio plans and avail the benefits of Prime membership.
Jio Prime will be available from August 20. Customers will be able to subscribe from MyJio app, Jio.com, Jio stores or authorized Jio partner stores. Prime is open to existing prepaid and postpaid customers as well as new Jio customers. Customers of other networks can join it by porting their number or taking a new Jio connection.
Jio Prime has come at a time when recharge prices are again in the news in the telecom market. Airtel has recently made changes to its prepaid portfolio and removed some popular plans including ₹299. After this, the ₹349 plan has become the starting option in the 28 days daily-data category. On the other hand, Jio has made it clear that its existing ₹ 299 plan will continue. In such an environment, the option to lock the current price for one year through Prime is of special importance to the customers.
Prime is not a new mandatory recharge plan. Prime membership will also come with two cashback vouchers totaling ₹600. Among these, one voucher of ₹ 300 can be used on purchasing a new JioHome or JioPC connection and the other voucher of ₹ 300 can be used on purchasing a new Jio SIM for a family or friend. Members will also get early access to new Jio products and services and priority customer support through a separate channel.
