India vs Sri Lanka: India made the 600th Test memorable, defeated Sri Lanka by 165 runs and took a 1-0 lead in the series.

Gaul: India made its 600th Test match memorable with a historic win. In the first match of the two-Test series played in Galle, India defeated Sri Lanka by 165 runs on the fifth day. Manav Suthar's brilliant bowling was the biggest attraction in India's victory. He took a total of 10 wickets in the match. With this victory, the Indian team has taken a 1-0 lead in the series.

Devdutt Padikkal was adjudged Player of the Match for his brilliant century of 167 runs in the first innings.

Sri Lanka was limited to 206 runs in the second innings.

Chasing a challenging target to win, Sri Lanka started the fourth day on Wednesday at 84 runs for four wickets. Captain Dhananjay de Silva and Sonal Dinusha batted cautiously and took the team's score to 156 runs.

Ravindra Jadeja gave India the first success of the day. He dismissed Dhananjay de Silva on the second ball of the 56th over. Dhananjay scored 59 runs in 151 balls with the help of seven fours.

After this, Prasidh Krishna got Niroshan Dickwella caught by wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant on the personal score of 10 runs. In this way Sri Lanka's score became 175 runs for six wickets.

Manav Suthar turned the match

After lunch, the Indian bowlers tightened the noose on Sri Lanka. Manav Suthar gave a big success to India by dismissing Sonal Dinusha on the score of 84 runs. Dinusha hit eight fours and one six in 128 balls.

After this Suthar also released Prabhat Jayasuriya and Lahiru Kumara. In the 78th over, he dismissed Keshara Nuwanta for 20 runs and ended Sri Lanka's second innings at 206 runs.

Manav Suthar took six wickets for 55 runs in 23.4 overs in the second innings. He had four wickets to his name in the first innings. In this way he took a total of 10 wickets in the entire match. Prasidh Krishna took two wickets, while Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja took one wicket each.
