Rampur. The troubles of former UP minister and senior Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan are not ending. According to the latest information, now the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has raided Azam Khan's premises. It is reported that ED teams reached 10 locations of Azam Khan in Rampur, Saharanpur and Delhi on Wednesday morning and started investigation. Azam Khan's Mohammad Ali Johar University and house in Rampur are also among these places.

There are many cases against Azam Khan. ED is taking action in these cases under money laundering. Azam Khan's Mohammad Ali Johar University is the most talked about. The administration alleges that Azam Khan built the university buildings by occupying government land. There are 40 buildings in Azam's University. Out of which 38 have been declared illegal by the administration. Hearing in this case is going on in the Commissioner Court of Moradabad. Anjaneya Kumar Singh, who was the commissioner of Moradabad, had recently put an interim ban on the demolition of buildings declared illegal in Azam Khan University.

Azam Khan was considered the most powerful minister during the Samajwadi Party rule. He also got embroiled in many types of controversies. After the formation of BJP government in UP in 2017, 104 cases were registered against Azam Khan. Of these, 90 were registered in Rampur itself. Azam Khan has also been acquitted in 5 cases. Azam Khan is currently in Rampur district jail. Recently, Samajwadi Party leader and Akhilesh Yadav's uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav had gone to jail and met Azam Khan. Shivpal had then announced that Azam Khan would be made the Home Minister if the Samajwadi Party government is formed in UP. This statement of Shivpal Singh has heated up the politics in UP. BJP has taken a dig at the Samajwadi Party by citing the cases against Azam Khan.
