Jharkhand: High Court bans Soren government's decision, stays order to cancel JSSC-CGL exam

Jharkhand High Court has put a stay on the major decision of Hemant Soren government, in which the examinations of Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) were cancelled. After the court order, there has been a change in the status of JPSC examinations. The High Court has given a big decision in the matter related to JPSC 11th to 13th examination and Food Safety Officer examination. The High Court has put a stay on the order issued by the state government regarding the examinations with immediate effect.

The State Government has been asked by the High Court to file its reply along with counter affidavit within 15 days. Now the state government will have to present its side and relevant documents related to its side in the court.

Decision to cancel 22 recruitment examinations

Let us tell you, there was an agitation in Jharkhand for 26 days regarding alleged irregularities in recruitment examinations, which has currently been postponed. The government held several rounds of talks with the protesters, after which it has decided to cancel 22 recruitment examinations conducted since 2014 through Jharkhand Public Service Commission, Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission and one outsourced agencies. Jharkhand government has also ordered investigation of 23 other examinations.

Resentment among successful candidates due to cancellation of examination

However, the government's decision also gave rise to a new controversy. Around 2,000 successful candidates, especially those who got government jobs through JSSC Combined Graduate Level Examination, are protesting against the cancellation of the examination. He says that he has given the examination with full hard work and ability. If irregularities are found at any stage in the examination, action should be taken against the guilty candidates and those responsible. No successful candidates should suffer the consequences of this.

Many students also started jobs

The successful candidates approached the Jharkhand High Court protesting against the decision of the state government to cancel the examination. They were appointed after passing the examination. Many candidates have also started jobs in different departments of the government. The High Court heard the petition of these people and put a stay on the order of Hemant Sarkar.

Jharkhand government did not follow natural justice – lawyer

Advocate Kumar Harsh, who represented the successful candidates in the hearing, said, “We had filed an intervention application. The writ petition that was filed was challenging the cancellation of the examination by the government. The petitioners said that natural justice has not been followed. They also said that there is no mention anywhere in the record as to what is their fault. The government has to file a reply within 15 days. The court has stayed the order. The candidates whose examination has been canceled will have to pay a sum of Rs. Have to submit an affidavit stating that if they are found involved in any way, they will be affected and will be forced to accept the order.”
