Former Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav has been made the brand ambassador of the first Zito Premier League (JPL). This tournament will be played in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 24 August to 5 September 2026. Jito Premier League has been started with the aim of giving a bigger platform to the players of Jain community. The league is led by its chairman Vicky Oswal. 12 franchise teams will participate in this and a total of 33 matches will be played. Around 250 best cricketers from different parts of India will be seen playing in the tournament.
Vicky Oswal said that Suryakumar Yadav’s journey, his personality and his achievements completely match the values of the league. He said that JPL is not just a cricket tournament but an attempt to inspire the next generation and create a strong sports platform. Suryakumar Yadav can attend the opening ceremony and the first match. Apart from this, he will also be present in some other matches of the tournament. All matches will be telecast live on OTT platforms, digital sports channels and cricket scoring apps.
Franchise auction held for Rs 43 crore
JITO Chairman Prithviraj Kothari said that the league has raised Rs 43 crore from the franchise auction; He said that there has been a good increase in the prices of some franchises in just a few months. The league is being organized under the leadership of the apex team of Jain International Trade Organization (JITO). This team includes Prithviraj Kothari, Vijayji Bhandari, Lalitji Dangi, Sampatji Chaplot and Jinendra Kumar Munoth. Dhulewa Group is the title sponsor; Authum Group and Orbis Global are powered by sponsors, while ITC Hotel Colombo is the official hospitality partner.
12 teams will take part in the tournament
JPL includes Bengaluru Blasters, Chennai Strikers Kings, Golden Eagles Delhi, Gujarat Gladiators, Indore Hawks, Mumbai Kings, Mumbai Sobo Stars, Pagaria Strikers Maharashtra, Pune Peshwas, Rajasthan Dynasty, RDB Monarch Bengal Indians and SLJ Royals Hyderabad. An independent anti-corruption squad has been appointed to maintain transparency and fairness in the tournament; This team will keep an eye on all the matches during the entire tournament. With international level events, live telecast and presence of Suryakumar Yadav, JPL is expected to become a big community cricket platform.
