New Delhi: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has been shifted from Adiala Jail to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad. Following the order of the Supreme Court, he was brought to the hospital for medical examination and treatment. In view of Imran Khan’s hospital shifting, tight security arrangements were made in the entire area.
Heavy security outside Shifa Hospital
Even before Imran Khan reached the hospital, police deployment was increased in Shifa International Hospital and surrounding areas. Many senior officials including the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police reached the hospital and took stock of the security arrangements. The officials took information about security preparations from the policemen present on the spot.
The vehicles parked around the hospital were removed with the help of lifters, so that there is no obstruction in the way of the convoy bringing Imran Khan. Security agencies have also increased surveillance around the hospital.
Sub-jail will become part of the hospital
Keeping security in mind, preparations are being made to declare a part of Shifa International Hospital as a sub-jail. The necessary process in this regard is being completed by the administration. It is believed that during Imran Khan’s stay in the hospital, security arrangements will be made under this arrangement.
Alima Khan did not get entry in jail
Imran Khan’s sister Alima Khan also reached Adiala jail to meet him. Cousin Qasim Khan was also with him. However, citing security reasons, the police stopped both of them at the main gate of the jail. They were not allowed to go inside.
Shifting after Supreme Court order
The action of sending Imran Khan to the hospital has been taken after the instructions of the Supreme Court. The court had ordered the authorities to take the former Prime Minister to Shifa International Hospital for medical examination and treatment.
After this, Pakistan’s administration and security agencies completed necessary preparations in the hospital. Even after Imran Khan reached the hospital, the police have been kept on alert mode and senior officers are continuously monitoring the security arrangements.
