Former MP Sajjan Kumar: Former Congress MP Sajjan Kumar, who was serving life sentence in Delhi's Tihar Jail, died on Thursday. He breathed his last at the age of 80. Safdarjung Hospital confirmed his death and said that he was brought to the hospital in a dead state, where the team of doctors declared Sajjan Kumar dead after examination. As soon as the news of his demise was received, his son Jag Pravesh Kumar reached Safdarjung Hospital.

These cases were related to the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. During that time, a Gurudwara was set on fire after the murder of 5 Sikhs in Palam Colony of Delhi Cantt. Sajjan Kumar was convicted in this case. On December 17, 2018, Delhi High Court had sentenced Sajjan Kumar to life imprisonment in this case.
