Once again a discussion has erupted regarding the difference between the national song 'Vande Mataram' and the national anthem 'Jana Gana Mana'. Meanwhile, senior actress Sharmila Tagore expressed her opinion on this. After his statement came out, actress Kangana Ranaut gave her reaction. Kangana said that she was shocked to see such limited views of Sharmila ji as an artist. Kangana appealed to them to come out of Hindu-Muslim thinking.
'Vande Mataram' was written by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee in the 1870s and was included in his novel 'Anandamath'. This became a big slogan in the freedom movement. The first two verses of this song praise the beauty and land of the country. The last four verses mention Hindu goddesses like Durga, Lakshmi and Saraswati. Currently the debate is on whether all its positions should be considered equal. Some people say that it is a symbol of the spirit of the country and the fight for freedom, while some believe that due to the mention of Hindu gods and goddesses, it may be difficult for people of other religions to fully accept it.

Sharmila Tagore's statement
Sharmila Tagore, while presenting her point of view in an interview, said, 'I believe that many religious people believe in only one God, not many Gods. Many gods and goddesses are mentioned in a part of 'Vande Mataram'. He further said, 'It is not easy for people who believe in only one God to say 'Vande Kali, Vande Durga'. Therefore, if we want to take people of all religions of the country together, then the first two verses of this song are the most correct and better.
Kangana Ranaut's answer
While sharing the video of Sharmila Tagore's interview on her Instagram story, Kangana Ranaut wrote, 'I appreciate that Sharmila ji has talked about her hesitation on Vande Mataram but as an artiste, I am shocked to see how her thinking about art or poetry can be so limited. In any poem or song, words are just a gesture. A poet or artist uses all kinds of imagery and examples to leave a deep impact on his message. Vande Mataram is the spirit of the fight for freedom. Bankim Chandra ji is asking the country to awaken the power within itself. How can you limit such a great work of art to just a religious work?'

Example of Swami Vivekananda
Kangana further wrote, 'Swami Vivekananda had said that I want such youth whose muscles are of iron, bones of steel and nerves as strong as electricity. He was not telling the weather conditions, he was just asking people to awaken their inner strength. Please come out of this Hindu-Muslim thinking. Even though we believe in only one God, doctors also call power as Shakti. Let us all embrace each other as our own. I love you very much and I don't mind a loving hug from you, like you always give me.
