Siddharthnagar. A woman injured in a collision with an e-rickshaw in front of Mau North village of Mishraulia police station area died during treatment. The deceased has been identified as Kalavati (55), wife of Awadhesh.
According to the information received, on the evening of August 15, 2026, e-rickshaw driver of unknown number Barkhu son of Badri, resident of Vishunpur Akolhia police station Golhaura hit Kalavati hard in front of the house. The woman was seriously injured in the accident.
The injured was admitted to the district hospital by the family members, where he was undergoing treatment. When his condition became critical, the doctors referred him to Gorakhpur on Tuesday, August 19. The family members were taking him to Gorakhpur when he died on the way.
The deceased's husband Awadhesh son Sunnar reached Mishraulia police station and lodged a complaint about the incident. On the basis of the complaint, the police have registered a case against the accused e-rickshaw driver. Senior Sub Inspector Digvijay Nath Dubey said that the body has been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem and the matter is being investigated.
