Mumbai The accident took place in Kurla, Mumbai on Friday morning. With the help of a crane, a Poklane machine was being lifted to the upper part of the building. Then due to loss of balance, the crane fell on the ground and a part of it fell on two nearby houses and the overhead electric wire of Mumbai Local Railway. Many people were injured in this accident and were taken to the hospital. The accident created a stir in the area. On receiving information, local police and administration reached the spot and started investigation.
According to the Central Railway, a crane of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) fell from a nearby work site on overhead equipment (OHE) between Kurla and Trombay. This is mainly a goods train line, so movement has not been affected. So far, 11 people have been reported injured in this accident. MMRDA has taken responsibility for this accident.
According to DCP Ganesh Shinde of Mumbai Police, he has met the injured after the incident. He has gone to the hospital and met 9 injured people, the condition of all is stable, while one or two people have been admitted to private hospitals. There is no news of any death yet.
At present, relief and rescue work is going on and the crane is being removed. Police have started investigating the matter. Earlier, there was a massive landslide in Ghatkopar, Mumbai, in which people including three children died and four others were injured. This accident took place in Gausia Chawl in Ashok Nagar area of Chirag Nagar. When people were sleeping comfortably in their homes. Then a part of the nearby hill collapsed, due to which mud, big stones and debris fell on two-three row houses.
