Although SUVs currently dominate the Indian automobile market, Skoda Auto India has kept its faith in sedans. After the arrival of Skoda's three new sedans, 'Slavia Facelift', 'Superb Diesel' and 'Octavia RS', Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Skoda India said, “Even though the market trend has changed, the 'sedan' remains the true and perfect car.”
Sedan craze and Skoda share
According to Gupta, the premium sedan segment accounts for 4,000 to 4,500 units per month in the Indian market. In this, the share of 'Skoda Slavia' alone is as much as 30 percent. Due to the excellent driving dynamics, stunning looks and comfortable feel of the sedan cars, the joy of driving and owning them is different.

How will the sedan fare in the crowd of SUVs??
Gupta acknowledged that the expansion of the sedan segment has slowed somewhat as automobile companies have shifted their focus to SUV production. However, he believes that in the coming time, when consumers get tired of the monotonous design of SUVs, the demand for sedans will rise again. In particular, families who own more than one car may prefer a sedan for variety.
