Tezzbuzz Desk – A very sad news has come out from the South Film Industry. Veteran actress of Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada cinema Saukar Janaki passed away at the age of 94. He breathed his last in a hospital in Chennai on Friday, August 21.
It is being told that Saukar Janaki was suffering from age related health problems for a long time. He also had trouble breathing. Recently, after his health deteriorated, he was admitted to a hospital in Chennai, where he died during treatment.
7 decade long career comes to an end
Saukar Janaki was a part of the film industry for almost 7 decades. In his long career, he worked in more than 400 films and created his own identity in South Indian cinema.
Her real name was Shankarmanchi Janaki, but in the film world she became famous as 'Saukar Janaki'.
Saukar Janaki worked in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films. For his brilliant acting, he got a lot of respect from the audience as well as the film industry.
The journey started from radio jockey
Before entering films, Saukar Janaki worked as a radio jockey in All India Radio. In the year 1950, he entered the world of acting with the Telugu film 'Shaukaar'.
NT Rama Rao was also seen in this film directed by LV Prasad. After her debut, Saukar Janaki never looked back and became a part of many memorable films.
His famous films include 'Iru Kodukal', 'Bama Vijayam', 'Hey Ram', 'Geeta', 'Thillu Mullu' and 'Neerkumizhi'.
In view of his long contribution in the field of cinema and art, the Government of India honored him with Padma Shri in the year 2022. There is a wave of mourning in the South Indian film industry due to the news of Saukar Janaki's demise. With his death at the age of 94, his glorious film journey of nearly seven decades came to an end.
