Important news for SBI customers! Charges will be deducted on withdrawing money

New Delhi. The country's largest government bank SBI has changed the cash withdrawal rules for zero balance i.e. BSBD account holders. The new rule will come into effect from 1 October 2026. After this, customers will have to pay additional charges for withdrawing cash more than the prescribed limit in a month.

Free withdrawal up to 4 times a month

Under the new rule, BSBD account holders will be able to withdraw cash up to 4 times in a month for free. After this, Rs 15 and GST will have to be paid on every additional cash withdrawal. This limit will also include cash withdrawals made from SBI branch, SBI ATM, ATMs of other banks and Aadhaar based AePS.

It is important to pay attention to those withdrawing cash from AePS

The new changes will also affect customers withdrawing money through Aadhaar. Now cash withdrawal from AePS will also be counted among the 4 free cash withdrawals of the month. This means that after reaching the limit of four times, you will have to pay a fee even for withdrawing cash from Aadhaar. However, common digital transactions like UPI, NEFT and IMPS will not be affected by this change.

SBI released information

Information about the new rule has been given by the bank through a public notice on social media platform X. Therefore, it is important for BSBD account holders to keep in mind their cash withdrawal needs and new charges before October.
