Business Desk – Sunshine Pictures IPO: Investors have given a tremendous response to the IPO of Sunshine Pictures, which makes films like 'Holiday', 'Commando' and 'The Kerala Story'. This IPO of Rs 282.14 crore closed with a total of 105.81 times subscription.
Friday, August 21, is an important day for investors investing money in IPO, because the allotment of shares will be done today. The probable listing of the company's shares will take place on August 25, 2026. The share is trading at a premium of Rs 80 in the gray market, indicating a potential upside of about 22% compared to the upper price band.
GMP Rs 80, listing estimated around Rs 440
The upper price band of Sunshine Pictures IPO was fixed at Rs 360 per share. At present, its GMP i.e. Gray Market Premium in the gray market is said to be around Rs 80. According to this, the possible listing of the share can be around Rs 440.
If the share is listed around this GMP, then a premium of about 22% can be received compared to the IPO price. However, GMP is just an indication of the gray market. The actual listing price will depend on the market conditions and supply and demand of the shares at the time of listing.
IPO subscribed 105.81 times
Sunshine Pictures' IPO was open for subscription from August 18 to August 20. Till the last day it got a total of 105.81 times subscription.
Non-institutional investors i.e. NII showed the most interest. Their shares were subscribed 197.04 times. Qualified Institutional Buyers i.e. QIB category was subscribed 123.52 times. At the same time, the share of retail investors was also filled 56.60 times.
48 lakh new shares issued in IPO
The total issue size of Sunshine Pictures is Rs 282.14 crore. In this, 48 lakh new shares worth Rs 172.80 crore have been issued. Apart from this, 30 lakh shares worth Rs 109.34 crore have been sold through Offer for Sale i.e. OFS.
In this way, along with the fresh issue, a part of the existing shareholders' stake has also been offered in the IPO.
How to check today whether shares have been allotted or not
The allotment of IPO shares is to be done on Friday, August 21. The registrar of this IPO is Bigshare Services, while GYR Capital Advisors is the lead manager of the issue.
Investors can first check the allotment status by visiting the website of Bigshare Services. Sunshine Pictures has to be selected in the dropdown there. After this, you will have to fill the captcha by entering the required information like PAN number, application number or DP/Client ID. After searching, the status of share allotment will be revealed.
Investors can also check allotment status on BSE website. For this, you will have to go to Equity and select the name of the company and enter PAN or application number. If information related to IPO allotment is available on the NSE website, the status can be checked through application number and PAN.
Company's earnings declined by 28%, but profits increased
Sunshine Pictures was established in 2007. The company is in the business of producing web series and TV shows along with films.
The company's total income declined by 28% to Rs 76.27 crore in FY 2026. In the last financial year it was Rs 105.80 crore. However, despite the decline in earnings, the company's profit increased.
The company's profit after tax i.e. PAT increased by 16% to Rs 40.02 crore. That means there was a decline in the company's revenue in the financial year 2026, but an increase in profits.
Project with Jio Studios and Doordarshan
The company is currently working on two new films with Jio Studios. Apart from this, a web series is also being made for Doordarshan.
Now investors are eyeing the share allotment on 21st August and the possible listing after that on 25th August. Although the GMP of an IPO gives investors an indication of the potential listing premium, the GMP cannot be considered a guaranteed return. The actual share price will be decided in the market on the day of listing.
