New Delhi, 21 August 2026: Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has stressed India's commitment to deepening economic partnership with Singapore and the rest of Asia and enhancing collaboration among the business community. Addressing the 'India-Singapore Business Forum' organized in Singapore, Piyush Goyal highlighted India's strong economic growth momentum, investment opportunities and the efforts being made by the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote 'ease of doing business'. The event was attended by students from non-profit business school INSEAD, Singaporean entrepreneurs and Indian businessmen.
Piyush Goyal also met Singapore's Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Trade and Industry Ms Gan Siow Huang and other dignitaries. He participated in the 'APEDA Fair-cum-Roadshow' and 'In-Store Promotion' program organized to promote the export of agricultural and processed food products of India.
Piyush Goyal also met with Sopanendu Mohanty, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of 'Global Finance and Technology Network', a Singapore-based global advisory and investment firm. They discussed opportunities to increase cooperation between the two countries in emerging areas such as financial innovation, technology and digital economy. Piyush Goyal also met Cindy Lim, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Keppel Infrastructure in Singapore.
