Expanding its flagship electric portfolio, Swedish car manufacturer Volvo India will launch two new luxury electric cars, the EX90 and ES90, in India on October 12, 2026. Based on the SPA2 architecture and 800V electrical technology, these cars will be Volvo’s largest electric cars in India.
Volvo EX90: Flagship Electric SUV The Volvo EX90 is a fully-electric version of the popular XC90 and will be the brand’s flagship SUV.
Performance and battery
In the international market it gets battery options of 92 kWh and 111 kWh with Single Motor RWD and Dual Motor AWD options. The twin-motor version generates 517 hp of power and 910 Nm of torque, allowing the SUV to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds.

Range and charging
This SUV offers a claimed range of 745 km on a single charge. It has 800V electrical system and 250 kW DC fast charging support.
Design and cabin
The 5 meter long SUV gets a wheelbase of 2,985 mm. Available in 6 and 7-seater variants, the car’s cabin includes a portrait-oriented touchscreen, digital driver display, head-up display, panoramic roof and a Google-based infotainment system.
Volvo ES90: Volvo is stepping into the luxury electric sedan segment with the premium electric sedan ES90. With a wheelbase of 3,102 mm, this 5-seater comes with an attractive fastback design.

Its ‘Twin Motor Performance’ variant delivers 680 hp of power and 870 Nm of torque, allowing the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.0 seconds.
Battery and charging
With a 106 kWh battery pack, the sedan offers a range of around 700 km. The car charges from 10 to 80 percent in just 22 minutes via 350 kW DC fast charging.

Premium features
The cabin gets a 14.5-inch touchscreen, 5G connectivity, a 25-speaker Bowers & Wilkins sound system, Dolby Atmos, an electrochromic panoramic roof and an advanced air purifier.
Security and expected cost
In terms of safety, both cars get Pilot Assist and Advanced Driver-Assistance System (ADAS) with roof-mounted LiDAR sensors, cameras, radar and ultrasonic sensors.
