Priyanka Chopra has shed light on the key factors that make her eight-year marriage to Nick Jonas work seamlessly, including his deep respect for her Indian heritage.
Speaking exclusively to AND! News at the New York premiere of her upcoming documentary Cycle of Lovewhich she executive-produced, on Thursday, August 20, the 44-year-old actress discussed Jonas’ appreciation for her cultural roots and revealed just how pivotal it has been to their relationship.
“I don’t know if I’d love him if he didn’t,” Chopra said.
She stressed that respecting each other’s cultural heritage is key to making an intercultural relationship work.
The Bajirao Mastani star added, “That is a big part of any story or any relationship that is multicultural. I think it’s really important to have a sense of respect for your partner’s roots.”
Furthermore, she highlighted that simply being kind to one another can make a significant difference in strengthening a bond.
“Being kind to your partner. That’s something that’s really important,” Chopra explained.
