If you are an avid watcher of The Traitors Season 2, you must have seen the episode wherein the contestants talk about Mallika Sherawat’s alleged fake Dolce & Gabbana emerald green outfit. In fact, the episode’s clip went viral, with netizens joining the debate over whether the outfit was real or fake.
It all started with Mallika’s Dolce & Gabbana green dress, which took over social media after Shalini Passi claimed that the outfit was not authentic. Amid the ongoing chatter, Mallika has now reacted to Shalini’s claim, addressing the controversy and appearing to take a playful dig at the speculation surrounding her outfit.
Sharing a video on her Instagram handle, Mallika was heard saying, “We need to address the most important issue on Traitors right now, my green dress. I mean, mujhe toh realise hi nahi hua ki meri dress itna bada topic of discussion ban jayegi. If my dress, my figure, my glamour is causing a little bit of jealousy, I understand. Enjoy!”
She wrote in the caption, “Dress meri, discussion sabka.”
In the now-deleted video from the show, Mallika was seen showing off her green dress for the day to the other contestants. Shalini was seated with Shweta Tiwari, Rida Tharana and Rhea Chakraborty when Mallika revealed that she had chosen a green dress for the day. Shalini then pulled the other women aside and questioned the authenticity of the outfit.
She claimed, “Just a week ago, I wore a green and gold dress of Dolce, and it is not like this. I went to adjust her mic and saw the brand. She is lying.”
Shalini, who is known for her extensive fashion collection, went on to explain that she had been wearing designer outfits since she was 17 or 18 and had several custom-made pieces.
She further said that she could share pictures of her outfits as proof, adding that she had previously worn couture pieces from brands including Versace and Elie Saab. Shalini concluded by insisting that Mallika’s green dress did not appear to be an authentic Dolce & Gabbana creation.
