'If I get bulletproof jacket, I will give it to journalists', Akhilesh Yadav's sharp taunt on security system

As the political temperature in Uttar Pradesh rises, sharp arrows of statements have started flying. National President of Samajwadi Party (SP) and former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav Has taken a strong dig at the security arrangements provided by the state government. Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Akhilesh bluntly said that he has not received any bulletproof jacket yet and even if the government gives him such a jacket, he will hand it over to the journalists instead of wearing it himself.

This statement of the SP supremo clearly indicates that she is in no mood to accept this additional security given by the government. In fact, in view of the upcoming election upheavals in the politics of Uttar Pradesh, new preparations are being made at the administrative level regarding the security of the leaders, on which political tussle has now started.

Preparation to give bulletproof jackets to 44 prominent leaders

In fact, considering the inputs received from security agencies and in view of the upcoming election activities, the Uttar Pradesh government is planning to provide bulletproof jackets to around 44 prominent political figures. According to sources, this list includes leaders of many big opposition and ruling parties of the state including Akhilesh Yadav and BSP supremo Mayawati.

It is being told that the Security Headquarters has purchased these special safety jackets at a cost of approximately Rs 10 lakh. There is talk of giving this security cover to 11 ministers of the government, among which names like cabinet ministers Nand Gopal Nandi and Sanjay Nishad are coming to the fore. Administrative officials believe that such security arrangements are made only after threat assessment and regular review of intelligence reports.

From selfies of Japanese children to attack on BJP's 'new full form'

During the press conference, Akhilesh Yadav did not stop only on the issue of security, but he also launched an all-out attack on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and BJP. On the issue of 13 school children from Japan, who were recently on UP tour, taking selfies with the Chief Minister, Akhilesh quipped that if the children had gathered correct information earlier, perhaps they would not have taken the selfie. He sarcastically added that these children would have more such opportunities in the future.

Along with this, the SP President intensified his attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party and gave a new political meaning to 'BJP'. He said that the real meaning of BJP has become 'run away to Pakistan'. Citing a recent administrative incident in Meerut, he alleged that an officer reprimanded the complainants who reached the office just because they belonged to the PDA (Backward, Dalit, Minority) category. He also raised serious questions on the police and administrative working style in the state.

SP's stand clear on alliance and PDA

Answering the questions being raised on coalition politics, Akhilesh Yadav clarified that Samajwadi Party believes in keeping promises and not in breaking the alliance. He stressed that when the party decides to move forward with a party, it does so with full sincerity.

Akhilesh reiterated that the basic foundation of his politics is the unity of PDA and establishment of social justice. Apart from this, he raised the issue of rising inflation and said that in the upcoming festival season, the prices of everyday essential commodities are skyrocketing, which is putting a heavy burden on the pockets of the general public.
