Adopt these measures during monsoon to avoid snakes

Precautions to avoid snakes

New Delhi: The rainy season not only brings coolness, but it also brings with it many dangers. When there is waterlogging, poisonous organisms move out of their natural habitats and move towards settlements. Due to this, the presence of snakes increases in homes, gardens and toilets during monsoon. In such a situation, instead of panicking, this danger can be avoided by adopting some precautions.

Keep these things in mind before going to the bathroom

There is a danger of snakes coming in through the toilet or drain. To avoid this, pour or flush water into the commode and check dark corners of the bathroom. If there is a snake in a closed room, do not try to force it out. The snake can come out by burning cotton cloth, dung cakes or onion-garlic peels and inhaling smoke.

Be cautious of common krait

The most dangerous snake during the rainy season is the 'Common Krait'. Its color is dark black and there are thin white stripes on the body. This snake is more active at night and its bite is almost painless, due to which the person does not feel it during sleep. Therefore, during rainy days, avoid sleeping on the floor, use a bed and use a mosquito net while sleeping.

Poisonous guests should stay away from the smell of phenyl.

The sense of smell of snakes is very sharp. They cannot tolerate the smell of phenyl or other pungent smelling chemicals. Applying black phenyl mop while cleaning the house and spraying phenyl near the balcony, main door or drainage pipe prevents snakes from entering your house. To prevent snakes from getting attracted towards the house, it is necessary to first eliminate their food, i.e. rats, from the house. Fill cracks in walls and foundation with cement immediately and do not allow bushes and garbage to accumulate around the house. Before wearing shoes and slippers kept outside at night, dust them thoroughly and keep using strong smelling substances like phenyl at the entrances of the house.
