Ingredients for Moong Dal Barfi
To make this sweet, the following ingredients will be required-
- one cup mung dal
- a cup of fresh cream
- one cup powdered sugar
- 15-20 saffron threads
- Small cardamom and chopped cashew-almonds
Prepare barfi like this
First of all, wash the moong dal thoroughly and wipe it with a clean wet cloth so that all the water dries up. Now heat the pan and fry the lentils on low-medium flame while stirring continuously. When the color of the dal starts turning light brown and the aroma starts coming out, turn off the gas. After the dal cools down, grind it finely in a mixer and filter it through a sieve so that the remaining lumps in it get separated.

Now add fresh cream to the pan and heat it lightly. Add saffron in it and then add ground moong dal and fry well. After this, add powdered sugar and crushed cardamom and keep stirring the mixture continuously on low flame until it becomes thick enough to make barfi.
Spread the prepared mixture in a greased plate or tray. Add chopped cashews and almonds on top and press lightly. Then after it cools down, keep it in the refrigerator for about an hour. Once frozen, cut into desired shapes and serve. This homemade sweet will be full of taste and nutrition along with an easy option for festivals. Keeping sweets protected from moisture, you can easily store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 8-10 days.
