Big relief to these employees in UP, government gave new good news!

Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a big relief decision for women government employees. Now there will be no mandatory gap of two years for taking maternity leave for the second child. This proposal has been approved through cabinet by circulation.

The two-year term is over

Earlier, according to government rules, 180 days of maternity leave for the second child could be availed only when a gap of at least two years had passed after the end of the maternity leave for the first child. Due to this condition many women employees had to face problems. Now the government has ended this obligation. That is, an eligible female employee will not be denied maternity leave merely because there is not a gap of two years between the births of the two children.

Rules changed after High Court order

A petition was also filed in the Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court regarding this matter. The court had held that if a woman employee is entitled to maternity leave for the second child under the rules, her application cannot be rejected merely on the ground of not completing the gap of two years. After this the state government decided to change the related rule.

You will get leave twice during your entire service period.

According to the current system, a female government employee can get maternity leave of 180-180 days twice during her entire service period. Cases of adopted children are also included in this provision. The new decision of the government will provide great relief to those women employees who faced difficulty in taking maternity leave due to the old rule when they became mothers for the second time. This change is considered important towards creating a better balance between work and family for women employees.
