Veteran Bollywood actor and former MP Govinda has taken a very strong stance on the false and fabricated news being spread on social media and digital platforms regarding his personal and family life. Amid rumors of divorce and second marriage with wife Sunita Ahuja, the actor's legal team has issued a public notice giving a clear warning that a defamation suit of up to ₹100 crore will be filed against those who harm his reputation. Legal crackdown on AI deepfakes and fake content The legal notice issued by Govinda has given a strict warning especially about fake content being created through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and modern digital technologies. According to the notice, no one is allowed to morph the actor's voice, photograph, identity or content related to their personal and family life, create deepfakes or circulate it without verification. Civil and criminal action will be taken against digital platforms, media organizations and social media content creators committing such acts under relevant sections of the Indian Justice Code, 2023 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. Preparation to demand bank account freeze and passport confiscation The notice also underlined that the court would be approached against those who hatched a systematic conspiracy to deliberately tarnish the actor's image. Orders can also be sought from the court for strict legal measures like freezing the bank accounts of persons and institutions found guilty, banning property transactions and confiscating passports. Sunita Ahuja's divorce case and background of the controversy: This entire controversy came into limelight when recently Sunita Ahuja formally withdrew her divorce petition pending for two years in the Bandra Family Court of Mumbai. Meanwhile, some unconfirmed conversations and claims went viral on social media regarding Govinda's second marriage with the budding actress of the upcoming film 'Roopa'. Govinda's manager and his team have completely rejected all these claims and called it an attempt to hurt the actor's public image and family peace. The actor has appealed to fans and media to believe only official and verified information.
