Kannauj Gold Smuggling: Local MP Akhilesh Yadav has made a sensational claim regarding the police seizing 10 kg of gold from a vehicle in Kannauj. The SP chief alleged that 26 gold biscuits of 1 kg each were caught from the vehicle but only 10 kg biscuits were shown. He expressed apprehension that the police might mistake the biscuits shown as brass biscuits and swallow them later.

Former UP CM Akhilesh Yadav wrote in X Post on Sunday, 'Dus dikhaya, solah gatkaya… BJP's police's illusion… Gold smuggling has been exposed in an accident involving a police vehicle in Kannauj. According to sources, when the car riders started running away after the collision, the police chased them and caught them and during the search, they caught 26 gold biscuits of 1 kg each from the car but only 10 kg biscuits were shown…'
Akhilesh further wrote, 'Now it has to be kept in mind that the police should not record the biscuits shown in the government records by calling them 'yellow metal' and later all these gold biscuits should not be lost by replacing them with brass biscuits. Let us tell you that Sakrava police station in-charge Bhagmal Singh in Kannauj was returning from Kanwar duty at 2 pm on Friday night. Constables Yogendra Kumar, Mohan Diwakar and female constable Rituchah were present in the car with him. Constable Lokendra Singh was driving the car. During this time, a police car collided with a Brezza vehicle at km number 171 near Nikwa village on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway.

It is being told that both the vehicles were badly damaged during the accident. Then when the police inquired about the condition of the two youths traveling in the Brezza car, they became nervous. The police became suspicious on this. On suspicion, the police searched the Brezza and found gold bricks in a black bag, the number of which was said to be 10. When the youth were asked about these, they could not answer. Among the arrested youth, one is from Maharajganj and one is from Nepal.
