New Delhi: YouTuber Ajit Bharti is in trouble due to a video that has surfaced on social media. Delhi Police has registered an FIR against him. It is alleged that objectionable and derogatory things were said in the video regarding caste, reservation and Scheduled Caste community. The case has been registered at North Avenue police station on the complaint of Delhi State President of Azad Samaj Party (Kanshi Ram), Balakram Boudh.
According to the complainant, in a video circulated on social media on August 22, Ajit Bharti commented on issues related to reservation and caste. It is alleged that objectionable things were also said about people of Scheduled Caste community in the video. The video and its screenshots have been handed over to the police along with the complaint. The complainant has asked the police to collect the original copy of the video and information about the account that posted it on social media. Apart from this, a request has also been made to secure related digital records.
Chandrashekhar Azad and Dr. Ambedkar also mentioned
The name of Azad Samaj Party chief and Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad is also included in the FIR. The complaint claims that objectionable comments were also allegedly made against him in the video. Apart from this, alleged comments related to Constitution maker Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar have also been mentioned in the complaint. The complainant says that the sentiments of the Scheduled Caste community have been hurt by the things said in the video.
Case under many sections including SC/ST Act
On the basis of the complaint, Delhi Police has registered a case under various sections of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Prevention of Atrocities Act, IT Act and Indian Justice Code i.e. BNS. Now the police will investigate the entire content and context of the video. An important part of the investigation will also be that from which account the video was uploaded and who later disseminated it on social media.
Investigation of digital evidence continues
Police are investigating the case on the basis of available videos, screenshots and other digital records. If needed, related information can also be sought from social media platforms. At present the allegations made in the FIR are based only on the complaint and the registered case. The allegations will be confirmed and the further status of the case will be clear only after the police investigation is completed.
