The first list of eligible farmers under the Farmer Loan Waiver Scheme was announced a few days ago. The first week of Rs 5000 crore has now been disbursed to the accounts of the eligible farmers in this list. The Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis gave this information in a press conference on August 7. He also informed that the second installment of the loan waiver scheme will be distributed soon. As he said, the second week of farmer loan waiver has been distributed on August 24.
In the second phase, loan waiver amount has been distributed to 6 lakh 20 thousand farmers. Apart from loan waiver, the government had made a provision of Rs 20 thousand crores in the monsoon session.
Cooperation Minister Babasaheb Patil had said last week that loan waiver amount will be distributed to 6 lakh 20 thousand farmers. After that, the government approved to distribute this amount within a week. In the first phase, the list of 16 lakh 96 thousand eligible farmers was released. Out of these 13 lakh 56 thousand farmers have done Aadhaar authentication. The remaining 3 lakh 39 thousand farmers have not been certified. Earlier, the balance of Rs 7 thousand crores and currently approved amount of Rs 4 thousand crores has been directly transferred to the bank account. 4 thousand crore rupees have been distributed to the farmers who have been Aadhaar certified.
