Recently, Akhilesh Yadav had said, “I don't know where all these people came from to form an alliance with us (SP). We had increased their price from 'Chavanni' (25 paise) to one rupee, yet they left us.” His statement was seen as making fun of the RLD president.
Responding on the social media platform 'X' on Saturday, Jayant Choudhary had said, “In the fight of politics, if you had to say some cheap things, then at least you would have said it by my name, then there would have been no problem.” He said, “Targeting the Jat community and saying that we taught them ‘ABCD’? I have seen this arrogance very closely and I believe that such behavior only leads to downfall!”
Speaking to IANS, BJP MP Dinesh Sharma said that if Akhilesh Yadav is calling Jayant Chaudhary 'Chavanni' without naming him, it means he is calling the “entire Jat community” like this. He said, “Chaudhary Charan Singh (Jayant's grandfather) was a big leader not only of the Jat community but also among the farmer leaders. Calling his grandson 'Chavanni' is an insult to the entire community.”
Referring to Jayant Chaudhary, Dinesh Sharma said, “He was born in a family which has nationalism and patriotism in its blood.” Uttar Pradesh government minister Narendra Kumar Kashyap said, “Akhilesh Yadav's ego is now at its peak. He is insulting RLD leaders and Chaudhary Charan Singh. He is also insulting the Jat community.”
