Sagar. A youth riding a bike died after being hit by a speeding truck in the Baheria police station area of Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday. The accident happened on Gadhakota Road.
After the accident, the truck driver fled leaving the vehicle on the spot. On receiving the information, police reached the spot, seized the truck and started investigating the matter.
According to the police, the deceased in the accident has been identified as Arjun Saur (25), son of Bablu Saur, resident of Sidguwan. Arjun was an employee in a crusher located in Sidguwan.
On Monday he was going to work by bike. Meanwhile, a speeding truck hit his bike hard on Gadhakota Road. The collision was so severe that Arjun died on the spot.
After the accident, a crowd of pedestrians gathered at the spot. On receiving information about the incident, Baheria police station immediately reached the spot. The police inspected the spot, prepared the Panchnama of the body and sent it to the hospital for post-mortem.
Police have taken the truck involved in the accident into their custody. The driver fled from the spot after the accident. Baheria police station in-charge Shashikant Gurjar confirmed the incident and said that a youth has died in a road accident.
Police have registered a case under relevant sections and started investigating the cause of the accident. The absconding driver is being searched on the basis of the registration number of the truck.
