New Delhi. In the women’s category of Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026, South Delhi Superstars displayed a brilliant all-round performance and defeated Central Delhi Queens by 11 runs. In this match which was limited to eight overs due to rain, South Delhi, batting first, scored 68 runs for 6 wickets, in response to which Central Delhi team could score only 57 runs for 5 wickets.
At the Arun Jaitley Stadium, South Delhi captain Shweta Sehrawat led the team’s innings by scoring 26 runs in 21 balls with the help of three fours. Tanisha Singh also made a useful contribution of 19 runs on 13 balls. Earlier, Priya Punia made a fast start and scored nine runs in four balls.
From Central Delhi, Sumiti Soni and Medhavi Bidhuri kept the pressure on the opposition batsmen by taking two wickets each.
Central Delhi Queens, which came to chase the target of 69 runs, had a very bad start and the team lost its first wicket on the very first ball. After this, Deeksha Sharma tried to handle the innings by scoring 22 runs in 16 balls with the help of four fours, but the team’s problems increased after she was run out in the sixth over.
Arushi Goyal scored 14 runs and Monica scored nine runs, but it was not enough to reach the target. For South Delhi, Rupali Vishwa Mohan, Disha Nagar and Ekta Bhadana took one wicket each. On the basis of disciplined bowling and agile fielding, South Delhi won the match by 11 runs.
