Anger is rising over canteen arrangements in the edge of Madhya Pradesh. Today, members of the Hindu community have called for a dhar bandh till noon. Members of the Hindu community will first gather at Lalbagh and then proceed to implement Dhar Bandh. It is to be noted that the arrangements and religious activities at Dhar’s historic Bhojshala are sparking anger among the Hindu community. This is the reason why the Hindu community has called for Dhar Bandh till noon today.
The latest controversy stems from both Hindu and Muslim communities using the same route for prayer and worship and the lack of demarcation of protected monument boundaries. The Hindu party has targeted the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) in this matter, as the Bhojshala complex falls under their jurisdiction. Angered by the attitude of the authorities, Hindu organizations today announced a dhar bandh. The controversy is expected to flare up again.
The Hindu community says that after the bandh, a petition will be submitted to the administration. The Hindu community has appealed to everyone, from the general public to traders, to cooperate in making Dhar Bandh a success. Calling Bhojshala a matter of faith, identity and rights, the appeal has urged people to participate in large numbers.
The letter issued by the Hindu community said that the forefathers fought for the faith and rights of Bhojshala. The community was urged to unite and convey their concerns to the administration so that future generations do not have to face conflict over the issue.
