At Tanishq, the 22-carat gold jewellery rate stands at Rs 15,075 per gram, or Rs 1,50,750 per 10 grams, according to the company’s official gold-rate history. The rate has climbed significantly over the past few weeks, from Rs 13,265 per gram at the beginning of August.

Malabar, Kalyan and Joyalukkas Rates

The latest available branded rates show Malabar Gold & Diamonds, Kalyan Jewellers and Joyalukkas trading around the Rs 15,000-per-gram mark for 22-carat gold. On August 24, Malabar, Kalyan and Joyalukkas each quoted Rs 15,030 per gram, or Rs 1,50,300 per 10 grams. Rates can differ by city and may be revised during the day, so buyers should confirm the final rate with the showroom before making a purchase.

Why Gold Prices Are Rising

Gold has witnessed a strong rally in August, with international market factors supporting demand for the safe-haven asset. Falling bond yields, a weaker dollar and concerns over the US fiscal outlook have contributed to the recent rise. The surge comes at a crucial time for Indian jewellery demand, as the festive season approaches. However, record-high prices could also make consumers more cautious about large purchases.

Check Making Charges and GST

The quoted gold rate is only the price of the metal. The final jewellery bill can be higher after making charges, GST and other applicable costs. Customers should therefore compare the complete invoice not just the per-gram gold rate before buying.
