South Africa is at second place with 75 PCT and New Zealand is at third place with 72.22 PCT. Whereas Bangladesh remains at fourth position with 55.56 PCT.
India is currently at fifth position
India's PCT increased after the win in the first Test against Sri Lanka, but the team remained at fifth position. The current PCT of India is stated to be 53.33.
At the same time, Bangladesh's defeat in the second Test against Australia has affected its PCT. This situation is opening the way for India to move up in the rankings.
India will leave Bangladesh behind as soon as it wins!
If India is successful in winning the second test against Sri Lanka then its PCT can reach 57.57. In such a situation, India will leave Bangladesh behind and move from fifth to fourth place in the WTC points table.
On the other hand, if Sri Lanka loses this match, its PCT may reduce from 33.33 to 27.78. In such a situation, the chances of Sri Lanka going down will increase and England can come above it with 29.76 PCT.
Rain can become a hindrance in the path of Team India
The biggest challenge for India is not only the Sri Lankan team but also the rain. Till the third day of the second Test, the Indian team has a strong hold on the match, but due to rain the game is continuously being affected.
In such a situation, Team India will try to wrap up Sri Lanka's innings quickly and bring the match to its conclusion. If there is not enough play due to rain and the match is drawn, then India will not be able to get the advantage that it expects in case of a win.
