UP Cabinet Meeting: Initiative to empower youth technically, proposal to purchase 25 lakh tablets

Lucknow. An important cabinet meeting was held on Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Many important proposals were approved in this meeting. During this, the proposal for purchase of 25 lakh tablets was approved under the Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme, aimed at technically empowering the youth of the state.

By giving approval to issue purchase orders to the institutions selected in the tender process, this important step has been taken in the direction of connecting the youth of the state with digital resources. These tablets will be given free of cost to eligible youth. Along with this, the monthly allowance of MBBS interns was increased from Rs 12 thousand to Rs 25 thousand.

Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Scheme is applicable for 5 years. Under the scheme, modern tablets are being provided to the youth of the state to make them technically competent. A budget provision of Rs 2,374.60 crore has been made for this in the financial year 2026-27. The special thing is that this scheme will not impose any additional expenditure burden on the Central Government.
