Thane News: Welspun One's ambitious development project 'World Trade Center (WTC) Thane' is nearing completion, giving a new direction to Thane's commercial real estate sector. The total investment in the project is expected to exceed Rs 1,000 crore, including investment by tenants for their space and fit-out. The company said the project will support around 5,000 employees in the tenant ecosystem.
Currently the WTC in Thane About 30 percent of the space has been leased out. Work on the project is expected to begin by the end of 2026.

Integrated Business Center in Wagle Estate
WTC Thane, which is being developed at Wagle Estate in Thane, is claimed by Welspun One to be the first of its kind integrated urban commercial hub in India. Grade A offices, experience centres, food and beverage (F&B) facilities and urban distribution centers (UDCs) are included in a single development project. Hence, the project will stand as an integrated hub of business, retail, customer experience and urban logistics beyond traditional office spaces.
Space for more than 50 brands
The project is designed to accommodate retail experience centers and F&B establishments of more than 50 brands besides providing office space to large companies. Emphasis is placed on providing regulatory compliant space, particularly for large-scale experience centres. A 'destination-themed' retail concept will be an important feature of this project.
Connectivity to the global WTC network
As a licensee of the World Trade Center brand, users of WTC Thane will enjoy the benefits associated with WTC membership. It is said to provide exposure and networking opportunities to an extensive global business network of more than 300 World Trade Center properties located in nearly 100 countries. Hence, WTC Thane is expected to serve not only as a local business hub but also as a link connecting industries and companies to the global business network.
Design by Architect Hafeez Contractor
The WTC Thane project is designed by renowned architect Hafeez Contractor. To ensure efficient movement of people and goods, large-scale spaces and necessary infrastructure have been included in the project. Special emphasis is also given on automation and green building concept. The project has attempted to create all the necessary facilities for retail and logistics along with the needs of modern commercial offices at one place.

According to Neeraj Balani, Chief Customer Officer, Welspun One, WTC Thane is emerging as an urban business hub that combines workplace, experiential retail and urban logistics in one integrated development project. Balani said the project is poised to set a new benchmark in how to create commercial spaces that meet the changing needs of businesses, brands and consumers in a fast-growing urban market like Thane.

The Aditya Birla group took over
Aditya Birla The group recently leased space in WTC Thane for its vault operations. At the same time, Welspun Group has also signed an agreement to participate in this development project. At present, the paperwork related to the tenancy agreement of various places is going on and it is expected that the names of more tenants will be announced in the near future.
Unveiled at WTC Thane x Welspun Living Media Evening
The development project was unveiled at the 'WTC Thane x Welspun Living Media Evening'. On this occasion, a special presentation was made by Welspun Living. The event highlighted the confluence of three sectors namely design, lifestyle and commercial real estate.
The Wagle Estate area is already known as an important commercial hub in Thane. The WTC Thane project, now expected to have a combined investment of over ₹1,000 crore, is expected to further add to the modern office, retail and urban logistics infrastructure in the area.
