ICC has held Prabhat Jayasuriya guilty under Rule No. 2.2. This rule deals with damage to sports equipment, uniforms or equipment on the field during an international match. Jayasuriya has reportedly pleaded guilty and accepted the punishment handed down by match referee Andy Pycroft. Since this is Jayasuriya's first crime in the last year, no major action has been taken against him. Earlier, India's Yashasvi Jaiswal and Sri Lanka's Asitha Fernando were also fined 25% of their match fee and 1 demerit point for clashing on the field on the first day of the match.
