Rohtak. Dera Sachcha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim, who was serving his sentence in Sunaria jail, came out of jail on Tuesday morning on 21-day furlough. This is said to be his last furlough of this year. At around six in the morning, Ram Rahim left for Sirsa with Honeypreet and others in a Toyota Land Cruiser. His convoy left the jail amid tight security.
Earlier on May 27, Ram Rahim had got one month parole. During that time he was allowed to stay in Sirsa camp. On Monday, the Haryana government had approved his 21-day furlough. Late night, the documents related to the headquarters reached Jail Superintendent Rai Singh, after which he was taken out of the jail in the morning amidst security arrangements.
Sadhvi is serving life imprisonment in sexual harassment case-
In 2017, the special CBI court based in Panchkula had convicted Ram Rahim in the Sadhvi sexual harassment case and sentenced him. Since then he is lodged in Sunaria jail of Rohtak.
Apart from this, in the journalist Ramchandra Chhatrapati murder case, the CBI court had convicted Ram Rahim and three other accused and sentenced them to life imprisonment. He was also given life imprisonment in the case of murder of former Dera manager Ranjit Singh in 2002. However, later the Punjab and Haryana High Court acquitted him in the Ranjit Singh murder case.
Parole and furlough continued to be granted after 2020-
In the initial years, due to security reasons, Ram Rahim's applications to come out of jail were rejected. However, after the year 2020, he has been getting parole and furlough on different occasions.
In 2020 and 2021, he was granted parole on an emergency basis to visit his ailing mother and for health reasons. After this, during several paroles and furloughs in 2022 and 2023, he spent time in Barnava Ashram in Baghpat, Uttar Pradesh. During this time, his online satsang and music videos also kept appearing.

12 May 2021: Investigation in PGI on complaint of blood pressure and restlessness.
17 May 2021: One day parole to meet mother.
June 3, 2021: Brought to PGI on complaint of stomach ache.
June 8, 2021: Taken to Medanta Hospital, Gurugram for health checkup.
July 13, 2021: Taken to AIIMS for investigation.
February 2022: 21 days parole.
June 2022: 30 days parole.
October 2022: 40 days parole.
21 January 2023: 40 days parole.
20 July 2023: 30 days parole.
20 November 2023: 21 days parole.
19 January 2024: 50 days parole.
13 August 2024: 21 days furlough.
2025: 21 days furlough each in February and April, while 40 days parole in August.
Now Ram Rahim, who was out on 21-day furlough for the 17th time on Tuesday, has been taken to Sirsa amid tight security.
