JPNIC Controversy: The present BJP government has decided to give the Jai Prakash Narayan International Center (JPNIC), built during the tenure of the former Samajwadi Party government, on a 30-year lease. According to the decision of Yogi Cabinet, Jai Prakash Narayan International Center will be given on 30-year lease to 'Rockwood Hotels and Resorts Private Limited' and 'Vrindavan Bottlers'. Regarding which a sharp reaction has come from SP President Akhilesh Yadav.

On the cabinet decision regarding JPNIC, SP MP and former CM Akhilesh Yadav strongly attacked the BJP government through ex-post on Wednesday. He wrote, 'Is BJP a government or a shopkeeper? Now the BJP government of Uttar Pradesh has taken the decision in the cabinet to hand over JPNIC (Jai Prakash Narayan International Centre) of Lucknow to private hands. Now all that is left is to give it on contract to the government or sell it. 'Commission' is the fuel for the corrupt BJP's vehicle and 'Privatization' is its tool.

Let us tell you that the process regarding privatization and lease of JPNIC was going on for a long time. Yogi Cabinet approved this proposal of LDA on Tuesday. After which the long wait for completion of the incomplete works of JPNIC and its operation is over. After this decision of the government, now the JPNIC campus will be upgraded, operated and managed through private companies.

With this, an advanced and international level facilities will soon be provided to the residents of Lucknow. In return, the private company will pay an initial annual lease rent of Rs 6 crore to KDA, which will increase by 5 percent every year. However, after the statement of former CM Akhilesh Yadav, politics seems to be heating up on this issue.
