Over 4,000 Amazon shoppers have bought a kit in the last 30 days.
My fatal flaw is loving white sneakers. Despite getting dusty and dirty within seconds of going outside, I can’t help but prefer a light, bright white to a dark black. This is mostly because I’ve gotten it into my head that dark sneakers make my legs look shorter. I’m sure this isn’t true, but once I came to this conclusion, I couldn’t unsee it.
I typically throw my running shoes in the washing machine when they get too dirty to wear without embarrassing myself. While easy and effective, I have to remove the laces, take out the insoles and wait days for them to fully dry. Convinced there had to be a better way, I turned to Amazon, where I stumbled upon a $10 shoe cleaner kit. With more than 2,900 five-star ratings and over 4,000 purchases in the last 30 days, it’s clear to me that I’ve been going about cleaning my shoes all wrong.
Cozgo Shoe Cleaner Kit

$10 at Amazon
What’s great about Cozgo’s kit is that it includes a bottle of foam, a brush and a microfiber towel, allowing you to easily clean your dirty knitted or mesh sneakers without filling your drawers with unnecessary gear. The brand suggests shaking the bottle before use; then, all you have to do is spray on the foam, gently scrub with the brush and wipe clean with the towel. While Cozgo says you don’t have to use water, at least one Amazon shopper recommended getting the brush damp before scrubbing. They also said that moistening the microfiber towel helped to make their mud-caked shoes look “like new” again.
A second Amazon reviewer was stunned by how well this kit worked, writing the following: “Honestly, I had lost hope with my shoes. I didn’t think that any product could whiten them, that it was better to throw them away, but this product did it!” They went on to say that the foam’s ability to clean is pure “magic” and “super effective.”
After an active summer and what will undoubtedly be a busy fall, my Brooks shoes are in need of a thorough cleaning. I was going to toss them in the washing machine, but I think I’ll get this $10 kit instead. Since so many shoppers swear by it, I would be a fool not to try it.
