New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed concern about the quality of big construction and infrastructure projects going on in the country. Let us tell you, in the monthly progress meeting held on Tuesday, he asked the officials that when there is a system of third party audit to check the work, then why irregularities are coming to the fore in the construction?
PM Modi said that just getting the audit done is not enough. If despite investigation the quality of work is found to be poor, then there is a need to improve the entire system. Along with this, he clearly said that negligence in construction work will not be accepted at all.
Work is going on on 6 big projects
According to the information, in the meeting, PM Modi reviewed six big projects related to railways, roads and electricity. These projects are running in nine states and more than Rs 30 thousand crores are to be spent on them. He said that a big project should not be divided into small parts and looked at separately. The entire project should be viewed together and its progress and quality should be monitored.
PM Modi told the officials that it is important to complete the work quickly, but along with it the quality should also be maintained. He also talked about increasing the use of modern technology in projects and strengthening monitoring at every level.
PM Modi also explained about electricity
During the review of the power project, PM Modi said that merely generating more power is not enough. To deliver it to people and industries, a strong transmission network is also necessary. To explain his point clearly, he gave an example and said that just as the full benefit of a dam cannot be achieved without a canal, in the same way the benefits of generating more electricity will also be limited without a transmission system.
Cyber fraud was also discussed
Apart from this, cases of digital arrest and online fraud were also discussed in the meeting. Prime Minister Modi said that it is very important to make people aware to stop cyber crimes. He has laid emphasis on running continuous awareness campaigns especially for the elderly, youth and other sensitive people. At the same time, people have been asked to be informed about new methods of online fraud, identification of fake calls or messages and safe digital use. PM Modi has also emphasized on regular training of officers to understand new methods of cyber crime and take quick action on them.
