Emphasis on five pillars from mobile to training
Dimple Yadav said that the objective of the scheme is not only to provide financial assistance. Work will be done on five major areas to make women self-reliant and technically capable. These include mobile, laptop, money, school and training.
In the presence of SP MPs and women MLAs, he said that along with the party’s PDA i.e. backward, Dalit and minority classes, the meaning of ‘A’ is also related to half of the population i.e. women.
Competition increased due to BJP’s plans
BJP is already working on many schemes regarding women. The party is running a free bus service for senior women. A scheme to provide assistance of up to Rs 50,000 to economically weaker women before the elections is also being considered. At such a time, SP’s promise of giving Rs 40,000 every year and increasing the amount can make the election contest more interesting.
Akhilesh cornered BJP on women’s reservation
Akhilesh Yadav targeted BJP on the issue of women empowerment. He raised the question as to why there is a delay in implementing the Women’s Reservation Bill even after it has been passed by the Parliament.
He said that it should be implemented in the next elections only. Referring to bus service for women on Rakshabandhan and BJP’s claims of women empowerment, Akhilesh also demanded immediate implementation of reservation.

Attack on government on women safety issue
Akhilesh Yadav alleged that ‘Women’ has become just an election slogan for BJP. He raised questions on the government citing old cases related to women’s safety. SP leaders also mentioned the Hathras incident.
He alleged that there is an atmosphere of injustice and insecurity against daughters in the state. He also referred to the Chief Minister’s alleged remarks during a fire incident. SP says that respect for women should not be limited to schemes and slogans only.
