Satkar Sakhis played an important role in making 'Chief Minister Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana' successful: Bhagwant Singh Mann

Chandigarh: On the occasion of Rakhi, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today fulfilled his duty as a 'brother' by transferring an amount of Rs 52.20 crore to 1.37 lakh 'Satkar Sakhis'. Along with this, he greatly appreciated the tireless contribution of Satkar Sakhis in taking 'Chief Minister Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana' to the women of entire Punjab. The Chief Minister said that due to the efforts of Satkar Sakhis, registration of more than 75 lakh women under this scheme has been possible and it has been ensured that the Samman amount reaches the bank accounts of the eligible beneficiaries.

Referring to this initiative, the Chief Minister said that till now 76.11 lakh women have been registered under this scheme, out of which Rs 2,381 crore has already been transferred to the accounts of 68.06 lakh women. His government has set a target of connecting one crore women with this scheme, while Satkar Sakhis will get Rs 300 for each registration, which will enable them to earn more than Rs 200 crore through this initiative. The Chief Minister said that the Punjab Government's commitment to the welfare of women will remain firm and as long as there is AAP government in Punjab, 'Mukhyamantri Mawaan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana' will not stop. During this, you will meet Punjab Women's Wing President and MLA Dr. Amandeep Kaur, MLA Dr. Jeevanjot Kaur, MLA Inderjit Kaur and Cabinet Ministers Aman Arora and Harbhajan Singh E.T.O. were also present.

Sharing information on the issue, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann wrote: “On the holy festival of Rakhi, our government is fulfilling the promise made to the sisters. Today I virtually participated in the 'Satkar Sakhi Samman Samaroh' at Goindwal Sahib. Under the 'Mawaan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana', 'Samman Rashi' is being sent to the accounts of more than 75 lakh women. Heartfelt thanks to all those 'Satkar Sakhis' who helped the needy families. Helped in registration and filling the form. Your name will be recorded in history for taking this comprehensive government scheme to every home and giving respect to the women in their bank accounts.

Addressing the gathering virtually during the function organized to give Samman Rashi to Satkar Sakhis, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that his government has given a special gift of Rakhi to the women beneficiaries by releasing the first installment on the festival of Rakhi. He said, “Our government has started 'Mukhyamantri Mavan-Dhiyyah Satkar Yojana' to honor the dignity of women. I appeal to all the remaining eligible women to get themselves registered under this scheme and avail its benefits.”

“Female beneficiaries above 18 years of age are receiving mobile messages of financial assistance of Rs 1,000, while women from the Scheduled Caste community are getting Rs 1,500. This assistance amount is being sent directly to their bank accounts and 97 per cent of women in Punjab are expected to benefit from the scheme. The state government has kept Rs 9,300 crore in the budget for this initiative,” the Chief Minister said.

He said, “This financial assistance may not make women rich, but it will definitely give them dignity and self-respect. Women deserve the utmost respect and the blessings of mothers and sisters can help them overcome every challenge in the world.”

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that it is very important to strengthen the financial independence of women for family welfare, promote gender equality and increase their participation in social and economic decision making. He further said, “Our government is committed to the welfare and empowerment of women and no stone will be left unturned in this direction.”

On the occasion of Rakhi, the Chief Minister said, “I have fulfilled the duty of 'Bhai' by transferring Rs 52.20 crore to 1.37 lakh Satkar Sakhis. Satkar Sakhis have played an important role in making 'Mukhyamantri Mawaan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana' a huge success, because due to their good-hearted efforts, registration of more than 75 lakh women has been possible.”

He further said, “Satkar Sakhis have made a huge contribution in taking this scheme to the women of entire Punjab. Due to their hard work, more than 75 lakh women have been able to join the Chief Minister Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana.”

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that Satkar Sakhis will get Rs 300 for each registration and the first installment of Rs 52.20 crore has been released at the rate of Rs 100 per registration. He said, “Our government has set a target of connecting one crore women with the scheme. Satkar Sakhiyya will earn more than Rs 200 crore through this initiative.”

The Chief Minister noted, “So far, financial assistance of Rs 2,381 crore has been sent to the accounts of 68.06 lakh women out of the 76.11 lakh women registered. This is the only scheme in the country which gives honorarium to every woman above 18 years of age without any conditions.”

He said that as long as there is AAP government in Punjab, welfare initiatives like 'Mukhyamantri Maa Van-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana' will not stop. The Chief Minister said, “In the houses where Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,500 has already reached, a relationship of trust has been formed between the Satkar Sakhis and the women beneficiaries. This relationship will be further strengthened when messages will again come on the phones of the beneficiaries with the release of the new installment on Rakhi. I hope that the women will use this money wisely to buy new clothes, take medicines or repay the loan. I am happy to see that this money is being used properly. It is being used.”

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann inspired Satkar Sakhis to always remain connected to the families registered with them and take care of them. Concluding the conversation, he said, “Their role should not be limited to just registration but should stand with the beneficiary families when needed.”

During this, AAP Punjab Women's Wing President and MLA Dr. Amandeep Kaur appreciated the dedicated contribution of the Satkar Sakhis and the entire women's wing in taking 'Mukhyamantri Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana' to the women across Punjab. He said that these sisters are not only helping women in filling the forms, but are also becoming a source of great support in changing their lives. She further said, “The women’s wing has emerged as the strongest grassroots force for the Aam Aadmi Party, which will play the most important role in ensuring the party returns to power in the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.”

He said that the Chief Minister Mavan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana is another big initiative through which the Bhagwant Singh Mann government has increased the dignity and self-respect of women. She further said, “In the past, women have been given positions but were often pushed back, whereas the current government has created huge opportunities for women in common life, employment and leadership.”

The AAP MLA asked, “Tell me, has any government ever thought so much about women? This is the first government that has thought so carefully about women. From free electricity to schemes for kitchens, pilgrimage facilities for our elders, reducing the cost of medicines through mohalla clinics, health insurance scheme up to Rs 10 lakh and now 'Mukhyamantri Mawaan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana', the AAP government has brought happiness on the faces of lakhs of my sisters.”

MLA Dr. Amandeep Kaur said that these initiatives have proved that the AAP government is a people's government and especially a government that recognizes the contribution and needs of women. She further said, “Under the present government, women have been given greater representation and opportunities, including bigger posts through the electoral process, employment and important administrative responsibilities. Earlier, women were given positions and were given a back seat, but today women are occupying positions of responsibility,” she said.

MLA Dr. Amandeep Kaur said, “There are 11 women MLAs in Punjab and the AAP government has given adequate representation to women. Women have also been given responsibilities as chairpersons and now even women are posted on big posts like DC and SSP.”

He said that the women's wing has emerged as a powerful force at the grassroots level for the Aam Aadmi Party and I am proud of the dedication and dedication of our team. She said, “I am proud of my entire women's wing team because if anyone is working as the strongest soldier for the Aam Aadmi Party before the 2027 elections, it is my women's wing team.”
