Jharkhand News: Jharkhand government has approved many major decisions regarding the development of the state, improvement in the education system and expansion of better health facilities. In the important cabinet meeting chaired by the Chief Minister, many far-reaching decisions were taken in the interest of school children and youth pursuing higher education and medical studies. The main objective of the government is to strengthen the basic system of the state and to provide direct relief to the general public.
System like private schools in government schools
A new initiative is being started under Gyanodaya Yojana to modernize the government schools of the state and create better coordination with the parents. Now on the lines of private schools, student diary will be given to students from class six to eighth. In this diary, complete details of the whole year's holidays and studies will be recorded, through which teachers and parents will be able to communicate directly with each other. A parental calendar will be issued in Hindi and English for small children from first to fifth class. Through this calendar, parents will be able to give useful information related to their culture and environment to their children at home, which will increase basic understanding and interest in studies in children.
Strengthening of health services and restoration of doctors' contracts
The cabinet has taken a big step to overcome the shortage of doctors in government hospitals and health centers of the state. Keeping in view the time taken in the permanent appointment process, the formation of contract based appointment rules 2026 has been approved. With this, the vacant posts of specialist doctors and general doctors in hospitals can be filled immediately on contract basis. With this decision, patients living in rural and remote areas will be able to get better treatment on time.
MBBS and PG seats will increase in two medical colleges
There is good news for the youth who are dreaming of becoming doctors in Jharkhand. MBBS and postgraduate seats will be increased in two major institutes of the state during the session 2026-27 to 2029-30. Along with the expansion of seats, new PG subjects will also be added in MGM Medical College, Jamshedpur and Shaheed Nirmal Mahato Medical College, Dhanbad. To improve the infrastructure, administrative approval of Rs 393 crore has been given to MGM Medical College and Rs 495 crore to Nirmal Mahato Medical College.
Guruji Student Credit Card Scheme rules become very easy
Major amendments have been made in the Guruji Student Credit Card Scheme to ease the path of poor students pursuing higher education. Now, lump sum reimbursement of first semester or first year fees deposited by the students themselves during admission will be done immediately through the web portal. To reduce the financial pressure on students, the five percent margin money applicable on loans up to Rs 15 lakh has been completely abolished. Apart from this, all the notified central universities of the central government including Nalanda University and South Asian University have been included in this scheme, so that students do not face any hindrance in studying in big institutions of the country.
Now 12 thousand stipend in grassroot innovation internship
Jharkhand Grassroots Innovation Internship Scheme is being started in a new form to promote traditional knowledge and rural innovation. Now ten thousand graduate students of the state will be given eight weeks of paid internship. The stipend received under this has been increased from ten thousand to twelve thousand rupees. This scheme will be implemented in all 4,345 panchayats of the state, where students will visit villages and prepare digital records of local knowledge. The honorarium of mentors has been increased to Rs 30,000 and that of coordinators to Rs 80,000.
Consensus also reached on rehabilitation, drinking water and administrative decisions
The Cabinet has approved the allocation of land for the rehabilitation of displaced families in Balliapur, Dhanbad and Rs 67.36 crore for the second phase of Moharda Water Supply Scheme in Jamshedpur. Along with this, proposals related to amendment in the list of natural disasters, extension of service of part-time teachers in residential schools and lease renewal of educational institutions have also been approved. All these decisions are expected to give new impetus to the development of the state.
