It has been said in the report that degree courses like BA, B.Sc., B.Com are responsible for increasing unemployment in the country. It has been said in the report of the Commission that this degree has not been updated as of today and studying this course is not enough to get a job.
Courses are running on old syllabus
It has been said in the report of NITI Aayog that these degree courses are being run on the basis of old courses. In today's time, students who get this degree are not able to acquire the necessary skills as per the requirement of the industry and hence they face difficulty in getting a job.
Many students do this course only for government jobs.
The report states that many government jobGraduation is mandatory as an eligibility criteria. Due to this, students choose degree courses like BA, B.Sc., B.Com so that they can be eligible for government jobs.

NITI Aayog has also recommended changes in the degree course. The Commission has recommended the government to make the education system job oriented. The Commission has said that by making changes in this course, the existing syllabus in universities and colleges should be updated as per the requirement of the industry. Students should be provided internship facility along with studies so that they can get real information. Along with this, Niti Aayog has also recommended that improving skills and including vocational and employment related courses should also be considered.
